The 84 vintage was created during a drought that lasted for several years. This lead to smaller berries and increased skin to seed ratio for concentrated fruit flavors. During its adolescence it was wild, but has completely transformed into a fine adult wine. Subtle aromas of sandalwood, and mushroom, lead to strawberry jam and plum with notes of mulling spices. Definitely a wine to enjoy now, especially with butternut squash bisque.
